Johnny Cool will be taking part in this scheme as a registered contractor to provide air conditioning and electrical services.

"A new $30 million Home Improvement Scheme will help stimulate the economy and keep Territorians in jobs. It's part of the Territory Government's Rescue and Recovery plan in response to COVID-19. The scheme will help fast track around 5,000 screwdriver-ready projects in Territory homes." 

So many exciitng opportunities for the industry are on the horizon.

Between the recent announcement of the historic Memorandum of Understanding between the NTG and the traditional owners of the Jabiru land, and now the US Defence announcing a spend of $300m, the Darwin construction industry has a lot to look forward to. 

"The Government claims the project will create 100 construction jobs, 400 ongoing jobs and inject $260 million into the Territory economy each year but has not publicly released a cost-benefit analysis."
